Deductibility of Gifts to Three Entities

The Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Competition Policy and Consumer Affairs, Chris Bowen, today announced the Government's decision to list the following three organisations as deductible gift recipients (DGRs), effective from 17 April 2009.

Donors can claim a tax deduction for gifts to organisations that are DGRs, subject to certain conditions. Extending DGR status to these organisations will provide them with assistance in attracting public support for their charitable activities.

Taxpayers should ensure that they receive a receipt for their donation.
