The Minister for Financial Services & Regulation, Joe Hockey, today approved the proposed acquisition of ANZ Grindlays Bank Limited by Standard Chartered PLC.
The Minister's approval follows advice received from APRA and Treasury in support of the proposed acquisition, with both ANZ Banking Group and Standard Chartered PLC addressing the National Interest criteria.
