Shop local in Lismore

Note

Joint media release with
Mr Kevin Hogan MP
Federal Member for Page

NOW is the time to spend more money locally, so small businesses can restart the heart of Lismore, Member for Page Kevin Hogan says.

“Our local small businesses employ many people in our community, and as a Government it is important that we support them,” Mr Hogan said.

Joined by Federal Minister for Small Business Michael McCormack, the two Nationals’ MPs met small businesses affected by the recent floods.

“It is great to have the Minister for Small Business here today to meet with many of the businesses which have been affected by the Lismore flood,” Mr Hogan said.

Mr McCormack urged Lismore locals to continue using the city’s small businesses to help the local economy recover from the recent flood.

“Every dollar we spend in a local community is an injection of confidence in that small business and in that economy,” Mr McCormack said.

“I am inspired to see how the community has come together following the recent flood and is rallying to help the city’s small businesses get back on their feet.

“By shopping local, that creates a multiplier effect throughout the economy. It backs business confidence to open again and to keep jobs local.”

Mr McCormack commended the work of the local Chamber of Commerce with Page MP Kevin Hogan in recent weeks.

“I have seen firsthand how the ‘Restart the Heart’ campaign is really helping, and I congratulate the community and Kevin Hogan for doing its best to back small business,” Mr McCormack said.

“Please keep it up. Keep spending money in local small businesses and I know this community will have a very bright future for small business.”
