The Assistant Treasurer, Senator Rod Kemp, has announced that donations made to the Linton Bush Fire Appeal will be tax deductible through specific listing in the income tax law, subject to the fund meeting the normal public fund requirements.
The Appeal provides benefits to the families of victims of the bush fire tragedy in Linton last December.
"There appears to have been a problem in the submission of the application for tax deductibility which was drawn to my attention this morning. Today’s announcement means that donations to this Appeal will be tax deductible", Senator Kemp said.
