Family Planning Australia Overseas Aid Fund Gifts To Be Tax Deductable

The Assistant Treasurer, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced that the Government will legislate to allow gifts to the value of two dollars or more to the Family Planning Australia Incorporated Overseas Aid Fund to be tax deductible.

The Fund has been established by Family Planning Australia Inc. to raise money for the relief of persons in developing countries.

The Fund was previously called the Australian Federation of Family Planning Associations Overseas Aid Fund, and accordingly, gifts to this fund will no longer be tax deductible as of 20 July 1999.

Taxpayers should ensure they receive a receipt for their donations.
