The Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Jan Harris and the reappointment of Mr Kevin Lewis to the Financial Reporting Council as part-time members.
The Financial Reporting Council is an independent adviser to the Government on the financial reporting frameworks in Australia. The Council provides strategic advice on accounting and audit standard setting processes for both public and private sectors.
Ms Harris is currently the Executive Director, Markets Group with the Treasury with a strong knowledge of the regulatory environment. She will act as a valuable link between the Treasury and the Financial Reporting Council.
Mr Lewis is currently a Group Executive with the Australian Securities Exchange with responsibility for compliance and investor education. Mr Lewis will continue to bring a crucial financial markets perspective to the Council.
Both appointments are for a period of three years.
