Today I will depart for the G20 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting in Bengaluru, India.
The meeting on 24‑25 February comes as the global economy faces multiple interconnected challenges.
Nations are battling high inflation, rising interest rates, a global energy shock and weakening economic growth.

Welcome progress on wages growth
The Albanese government welcomes new figures today showing wages growth has picked up even further since the change of government.
The Wage Price Index rose 3.3 per cent in the year to December, according to data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Consultation begins on legislating objective of super
The Albanese Government is taking the next step towards legislating an objective for superannuation.
A consultation paper released today seeks feedback from Australians about the benefits, phrasing and implementation of an objective for superannuation.
This is about making super stronger. A stronger super system means a stronger economy.
