Electricity subsidies worth $300 to every household over the year from July 1, and an increase to rent assistance are the government’s 2 main tickets to what they predict will be an effort to drive down inflation to get within the Reserve Bank’s target range by the end of the year.

Real wages keep growing under Labor
Annual real wages are now growing even more strongly after falling dramatically under the former government.
The Wage Price Index rose 0.8 per cent in the March quarter 2024, to be 4.1 per cent higher through the year. Annual real wages grew 0.5 per cent in the year to the March quarter 2024.
