New digital asset laws to unlock innovation and safeguard investment
The Albanese Government has introduced new legislation to the Parliament to help unlock innovation and protect Australians investing in digital assets.
Millions of Australians are using or investing in digital assets every year and this is about making that as safe and secure as possible, while also encouraging innovation.
Release of complete monthly Consumer Price Index
New figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed prices were steady in October but ticked up in annual terms.
Today’s annual result is higher than we would like but still much lower than what we inherited from our predecessors.
The flat monthly result in October was driven by falls in electricity and fuel prices, and a moderation in housing costs.

Foreign investment decision
Today, I have accepted the very clear and unambiguous recommendation from the Foreign Investment Review Board to block Cosette Australia Holdings Pty Ltd and Cosette Australia Bidco Pty Ltd from acquiring a 100 per cent interest in Mayne Pharma Group Limited on national interest grounds.
