Reforms to strengthen Australia’s foreign investment framework
The Albanese Government will reform and renew our foreign investment framework to make it work better for investors, our economy, and our national interest.
We are taking action to strengthen the regime where we need to, streamline it where we can, and make it more transparent.
Interview with Rebecca Levingston, ABC Radio, Brisbane
REBECCA LEVINGSTON:
It's a rare pleasure for this time of night to say good evening, Jim Chalmers.
JIM CHALMERS:
It's very good of you to have me on your show.
LEVINGSTON:
Got a bone to pick with you in just a moment.
CHALMERS:
That's a good start!

Joint press conference, Brisbane
JIM CHALMERS:
I wanted to talk primarily about the new inflation data out an hour ago. But first I wanted to touch on a counter‑terrorism operation that’s underway as we speak. And then after I talk about inflation, I’ll throw to Minister Wells to talk about one other matter.

The Committee’s advice is an important input to the Government’s considerations ahead of the May Budget. We are already acting on many of the issues outlined in the report.
Interview with Kieran Gilbert, Sky News
KIERAN GILBERT:
Does today’s CPI number change your thinking at all when you’re putting together your upcoming Budget?
JIM CHALMERS:
Annual inflation almost halved under Labor
New data shows inflation has now almost halved since the Albanese Labor Government came to office.
It’s still too high, people are still under the pump, but we’re making progress.
The Budget next month will focus on easing cost of living pressures, not adding to them.
Interview with Kieran Gilbert, Sky News
KIERAN GILBERT:
Jim Chalmers, great to see you as always. Now, I've just been talking about how the Fed has revised its own outlook when it comes to inflation. Do our mortgage holders in Australia also have to be more patient now, do you think?
JIM CHALMERS:
