Introduction
I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land from which I am joining you from today, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, and also the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, where you are meeting.
I pay my respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge any First Nations Australians in attendance today.
Superannuation fund mergers and defined benefit income streams
The Albanese Government is taking further steps to improve the efficiency of the superannuation system.
The Government is progressing legislative amendments to the transfer balance cap for individuals with a capped defined benefit income stream to ensure members are not adversely impacted in the event of a merger or successor fund transfer between superannuation funds.

Support extended for the families of deceased Youpla Group members
The Albanese Government is continuing to support former members of the collapsed Youpla Group.
The Youpla Group Funeral Benefits Program has been extended and will now accept applications until 30 June 2024.
Member appointments - Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board
The Albanese Government has today appointed Ms Angela Pearsall as a part-time business member of the Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board (CADB) for a three‑year period.
The CADB is an independent disciplinary body established by Part 11 of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (ASIC Act).
Australians urged to be alert to rapidly rising employment scams
The Albanese Government is urging Australians to be alert to an alarming rise in employment scams.
According to the National Anti‑Scams Centre (NASC) financial losses to job and employment scams have increased by over 740% in 2023.
Connecting over 50s to the digital world
The Albanese Labor Government is committed to ensuring older Australians are connected to and safe in the modern digital world and will today announce $42 million to extend the successful Be Connected program.
