Albanese Labor Government supporting small businesses’ cyber resilience
IDCARE has been announced by the Albanese Government today as the successful provider for a new $11.1 million Small Business Cyber Resilience Service.
The Service will provide free, tailored one‑on‑one assistance to help small businesses navigate cyber challenges, bolster cyber resilience and help recover from a cyber incident.
Albanese Government extends the small business responsible lending obligations exemption
The Albanese Government is supporting small businesses to access credit when they need it.
Currently an exemption allows small businesses to access loans or credit without being assessed against the Responsible Lending Obligations (RLOs), so long as there is a genuine business purpose.

Australians will have greater access to free and simple tax advice thanks to the Albanese Labor Government, with the expansion of the National Tax Clinic program.
Commencement of the Albanese Labor Government’s Payment Times reforms and data dashboards
The Albanese Labor Government is delivering on its commitment to improve payment times for small businesses with new reforms commencing this week.
The reforms are included in the Payment Times Reporting Amendment Act 2024 which passed the Parliament in July and the overhauled Payment Times Reporting Rules have now been released.

The Albanese Government is delivering on its commitment to reduce paperwork and streamline tax processes for small businesses with new legislation introduced today.
The Treasury Laws Amendment (2024 Tax and Other Measures No. 1) Bill 2024 contains new measures which will make it simpler for small businesses to comply with their tax obligations.
