Commonwealth overrules exclusion clauses for Bondi attack insurance claims
Today, we have declared Sunday’s Bondi attack a terrorist incident for the purposes of the Terrorism and Cyclone Insurance Act 2003, based on advice from relevant agencies and following consultation with the Minister for Home Affairs.
This will ensure businesses can lodge insurance claims related to the Bondi terrorist attack.

Exposure draft legislation – Research and Development Tax Incentive eligibility changes
The Albanese Government has released draft legislation to exclude activities related to gambling and tobacco from Research and Development Tax Incentive eligibility.
The exclusions will apply broadly, capturing research and development related to all types of gambling and any tobacco or nicotine products from 1 July 2025.
