The Government is inviting submissions from individuals, businesses and community groups on their views regarding priorities for the 2016-17 Budget.
The 2016-17 Budget will continue the Government’s commitment to restrain expenditure responsibly, while supporting economic growth to lift revenues.
We are continuing to roll out our national plan for growth and jobs that is backing Australians by opening up trade, boosting innovation, building new infrastructure, modernising the way we deliver products and services, working to deliver a more growth friendly tax system and strengthening the economy. The Government places considerable importance on receiving community views in developing its budget strategy and policies.
In order to allow views to feed into the budget process at an early stage, I ask that interested parties lodge submissions as soon as possible, and no later than Friday 5 February 2016.
Lengthier submissions should ideally include an executive summary of no more than two pages, and be accompanied by an electronic version.
