ACCC Deputy Chair appointment

The Albanese Government will reappoint Mick Keogh OAM as a Deputy Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for a further five years from 30 May.

Mr Keogh has been a Deputy Chair of the ACCC since 2018 and was previously an Associate Commissioner from 2016 to 2018.

He has extensive experience working with small businesses across the economy, particularly in the agricultural sector, including through his own experience of running a small agricultural business.

From 2003 to 2018, he was Executive Director of the Australian Farm Institute, an independent policy research institute that conducted research into strategic policy issues of importance to Australian agriculture and regional Australia.

The ACCC is an independent Commonwealth statutory authority whose primary role is to enforce the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, promoting competition, fair trading and regulating national infrastructure for the benefit of all Australians.
