The Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, the Hon Bernie Ripoll MP, today congratulated ASIC's MoneySmart website on being named best 'Service Delivery' website at the 2012 Excellence in eGovernment Awards.
"The MoneySmart website is an excellent user-friendly tool available to everyday Australians to help them improve their financial literacy and take better control of their personal finances," Mr Ripoll said.
"I'd like to congratulate ASIC and all of the staff in the MoneySmart team on this recognition of their outstanding work on the website."
MoneySmart is a key initiative in the Government's National Financial Literacy Strategy aimed at building the financial literacy skills of individuals and families to enable them to achieve their financial goals, address cost of living pressures and make the most of opportunities.
The MoneySmart website contains financial planners and calculators as well as a range of interactive and educational tools.
Since launching it has attracted over two million visits and the popular Budget Planner is used by over 28,000 people per month, on average.
