Part of the Abbott Government's plan to make Australia the best place to start and grow a business is ensuring they have access to a range of advice and support.
Today we are delighted to announce $52,800 has been granted to Hunter Business Centre Ltd to provide advisory services to Central Coast small businesses.
The funding is being delivered under the Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS) Central Coast National Interest Initiative.
It will enable Hunter Business Centre to provide expert advice and support to businesses in Gosford, Terrigal, Wyong, Budgewoi, Toukley, The Entrance, Terrigal and Woy Woy.
To provide this support, an experienced business advisor will be based between the Nexus Smart Hub in North Wyong and the Tuggerah Business Park one day a week for the next year.
The advisor will travel to businesses and other preferred meeting points across the region including in Gosford, Woy Woy and Terrigal. They will also provide online/phone support.
Both one-on-one support and small group workshops will be available for businesses whether they be start‑ups or those looking to expand their operations.
Like in most communities, small businesses are the lifeblood of the Central Coast economy.
Because of this, the Abbott Government is focused on creating the very best environment for them to thrive.
The new advisory services will assist Central Coast small businesses to improve their innovation, productivity and competitiveness.
The Hunter Business Centre Ltd currently provides advisory services in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Great Lakes, Upper Hunter Shire, Gloucester, Dungog, Maitland, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Cessnock local government areas.
This experience and the centre's expertise and broad connections make it well placed to help strengthen and up-skill the 19,000 small businesses in the Central Coast region.
