Today I have received from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) a comprehensive 642-page report into Australia’s grocery sector.
The Government will carefully consider the contents of the report and will respond to the report when it is publicly released next week.
We are committed to promoting competition and transparency across the grocery sector and as such will be closely examining all of the report's recommendations.
The Rudd Government welcomes the public debate that has been generated by the ACCC grocery prices inquiry and that will no doubt continue following the release of the report.
