The Minister for Financial Services, Superannuation and Corporate Law, Chris Bowen MP, is pleased to announce the following new appointments to the Australian Government Financial Literacy Board:
- Mr Hamish Douglass, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Magellan Financial Group Limited;
- Ms Fiona Guthrie, Executive Director, Australian Financial Counselling and Credit Reform Association;
- Group Captain Robert Brown, Chairman, ADF Financial Services Consumer Council; and
- Mr Robert James Thomas, Chairman, Gardner Smith (Holdings) Pty Limited.
"These new appointments have been timed to coincide with the reappointment of nine current Board members, for a period of three years, whose contribution is highly valued and appreciated," Mr Bowen said.
"I would also like to thank Ms Kerrie Kelly and Mr Jeremy Duffield for their past contributions to the Australian Government Financial Literacy Board.
"The time and effort that Ms Kelly and Mr Duffield have invested to advance the future prospects for the financial wellbeing of Australians is greatly appreciated."
The Financial Literacy Board, Chaired by Mr Paul Clitheroe AM, is a non-statutory body that provides the Government and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission with independent strategic guidance on financial literacy. The Board comprises people who are leaders in their respective fields and who bring energy, commitment to and expertise in financial literacy.
