Corporate Australia has lost an important contributor with the passing of former Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) Commissioner, Michael Dwyer.
During his time at ASIC Mr Dwyer played an important role in overseeing the regulator's surveillance and enforcement activities in the insolvency industry, as well as helping to shape the organisation's response to the challenges of the global financial crisis.
Mr Dwyer will be sadly missed by his colleagues and friends in the public and private sectors alike and will continue to be recognised for the important legacy he leaves in Australia's corporate governance framework.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Mr Dwyer's wife, Sally and children Alice, Edward, Henry, Annabelle and Camilla.
