Cormann flags Coalition cuts

A senior member of Tony Abbott's economic team has flagged that the Coalition would cut to the bone if elected.

Shadow Assistant Treasurer Senator Mathias Cormann said this morning:

"So clearly cuts will have to be made."

Senator Cormann also said today that:

"There will be more detail to build on the detail we've already released."

Senator Cormann has let the cat out of the bag: Tony Abbott will cut to the bone if elected to Government.

Mr Abbott himself has said:

"We will do some things that will hurt."

The Government has made responsible savings in the Budget to support jobs and growth. Mr Abbott will simply cut to the bone.

Mr Abbott must use tonight's Budget-in-Reply to release the details of the cuts he will make.
