Senior Taxation Adviser

Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer, Senator Helen Coonan, is pleased to announce that Ms Margaret MacDonald has joined her office as a Senior Taxation Adviser.

"I am delighted to welcome Margaret to my team, and I am sure the business community will find her to be a knowledgeable and capable point of contact in my office on taxation matters," Senator Coonan said.

Margaret joins Senator Coonan's office from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) where she has been Taxation Manager since July 2000.

Prior to taking up her position with the ICAA, Ms MacDonald was National Tax Counsel for Ernst and Young Chartered Accountants and prior to that she was Taxation Manager for RGC Limited, a large publicly listed mining group.

She has a diverse range of taxation experience in both large and small professional tax advising roles, large corporate tax and within the professional association environment which has given her a broad and effective basis for providing advice to the Minister in relation to taxation policy and administration.

Ms MacDonald will be based in the Minister's Sydney office and available on (02) 9251 2631.
