Tax deductions continue for RAAF Memorial Trust Fund

The Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer, Senator Helen Coonan, today announced that gifts to the value of $2 or more to the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Memorial Trust Fund would continue to be deductible from 18 November 2001 to 17 November 2002.

Gifts to the Fund were previously deductible from 17 November 2000 to 17 November 2001.

The Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Memorial Trust Fund was established to raise funds to redevelop the national memorial dedicated to members of the Royal Australian Airforce. The developed memorial will more adequately reflect the sacrifice and service of members of the RAAF.

Tax deductible gift status assists the Fund to attract public support for its activities.

Legislation to give effect to this announcement will be introduced as soon as practicable and taxpayers should ensure that they receive a receipt for their donation.
