REBECCA LEVINGSTON:
Lachie is the only one actually doing any work out in the producers’ booth. He has just written on the screen there’s a caller Jim who is a must take. Are you saying that I should take this call now? Okay. Jim. Good evening, Jim.
JIM CHALMERS:
Hi Bec, it’s Jim Chalmers here. How are you?
LEVINGSTON:
It’s the federal Treasurer, Jim Chalmers. How are ya?
CHALMERS:
I just heard that you were talking about a billy cart ride in Logan, you said, and I thought I better call in and say thanks for a couple of decades of wonderful radio and for all the opportunities to have a yak with you from time to time. And on behalf of your legions of listeners over all the shows that you’ve hosted, we’re very grateful. We really appreciate you, Bec. Thanks so much.
LEVINGSTON:
Thank you Jim Chalmers, Jim from Logan as you appear on the screen at the moment. Thank you so much, that is super kind. And yes, you have always taken my call or sent me a text to say you can’t take my call and that is a brilliant quality in a treasurer or a politician, so thank you so much. Look after the money.
CHALMERS:
In our local community, I know you’ve done mornings and breakfast and drive and afternoons and all the rest of it, but one of the things that we’re really grateful to you for out here in our part of the world is I’ve had a bunch of people tell me that you keep them company in the evenings on this show that you’ve been doing for the last year or so. And particularly people who might be on their own, they love it that you keep them company at night time. I think in particular our mutual friend Everald Compton, having him on, a couple of great conversationalists talking about the world, it’s just been wonderful, Bec, you’ve got so much to be proud of.
LEVINGSTON:
Thank you, Jim. I so appreciate the call tonight. Oh my goodness. I love keeping people company as well. All right, Jim, we better probably let you get to do whatever the federal Treasurer does on a Thursday night. Thank you so much for the call.
CHALMERS:
All the best, Bec, all the best. Catch you later.
