- In 1999, spending on IT&C products and services in Australia was almost US$36 billion.
- As a percentage of GDP Australia's spending on IT&C products and services was the 5th highest in the world and ahead of the US, Canada, Singapore and most European countries.
- The market is expected to maintain average growth rates of 8.5 per cent a year in the next few years.
