Clarification to Sydney Morning Herald article

It is alleged in the Sydney Morning Herald today that there is disagreement about the means of addressing aggressive petrol pricing by oil companies. This is wrong.

The Government is of the view that the petrol companies have been taking advantage of consumers with aggressive pricing practices, particularly around public holidays.

I have asked Professor Fels to consider all available options in his efforts to address these petrol pricing practices.

Professor Fels has advised me that he is considering these options.
