The Morrison Government has today reappointed Mr Martin Wallace as a part‑time Councillor of the National Competition Council (NCC) for a further two-year period.
Mr Wallace was first appointed to the NCC in 2015. He was previously the Secretary of the Tasmanian Department of Treasury and Finance and has extensive experience in public administration, regulatory policy and business and financial management as well as senior executive experience in the energy and telecommunications sectors.
The NCC is established under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Its main functions include making recommendations to relevant ministers in relation to applications to bring infrastructure into the National Access Regime, and the certification of State and Territory access regimes.
Mr Wallace’s reappointment will provide continuity and allow the NCC to continue to perform its important work.
