The Albanese Labor Government will help to deliver more than 100 new social and affordable homes in Heidelberg West through a new partnership with the Allan Labor Government announced today.
The development at the Bell Bardia Estate will be a mix of social and affordable homes, with the social homes funded with $27.5 million from the Albanese Labor Government’s Social Housing Accelerator.
The new development will include 53 social homes and 51 affordable homes with a mix of 1‑, 2‑ and 3‑bedroom dwellings.
The $2 billion Social Housing Accelerator is one part of the Albanese Labor Government’s $32 billion Homes for Australia plan.
The Albanese Labor Government is working with states and territories like Victoria to help meet our ambitious national target of building 1.2 million homes by the end of the decade.
The Social Housing Accelerator has already provided almost $500 million to Victoria which will help to build up to 769 new social homes across the state.
Applications closed earlier this year for the first round of funding for social and affordable homes under the $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund and the National Housing Accord, which will help deliver thousands of homes across the country.
