I am pleased to announce that the Governor-General has approved the extension of Mr Greg Medcraft's term as the Chairperson of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Minister for Small Business and Assistant Treasurer, Kelly O'Dwyer MP said.
"This extension will provide continuity of leadership which will support ASIC's implementation of important reforms announced by the Turnbull government, particularly in relation to measures to improve financial consumer outcomes," Minister O'Dwyer said.
"The extended term will take effect from 13 May 2016 to 12 November 2017.
"I would like to express my appreciation to Mr Medcraft for his commitment to ASIC," Minister O'Dwyer said.
