Small businesses in the road transport industry encouraged to have their voices heard

Minister for Small Business and Assistant Treasurer the Hon Kelly O'Dwyer welcomed today's release of two reviews into the road safety remuneration system.

"The two independent reviews will consider whether the Road Safety Remuneration System in Australia is an effective and appropriate way of addressing safety concerns in the road transport industry, an industry comprised of tens of thousands of small businesses," Minister O'Dwyer said.

"As announced by the Minister for Employment, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, consultations will be held with key industry participants, including owner drivers.

"This is an important step for small business and I encourage those small and family businesses in the industry to participate in the consultation process so that their views are heard," Minister O'Dwyer said.

Small business owners and operators who would like to be involved in the consultations can email rsrreview@employment.gov.au or visit the Department of Employment website for further information.
