Reappointment of Auditing and Assurance Standards Board Chair

Minister for Revenue and Financial Services, Kelly O’Dwyer MP today announced the reappointment of Ms Merran Kelsall as the Chair of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB).

"The AUASB sets the auditing and assurance standards which reinforce the credibility of auditing and assurance processes for end users of financial information,” Minister O’Dwyer said.

"Ms Kelsall has been the Chair of the AUASB since 2004.

"Ms Kelsall originally qualified as a chartered accountant and practised in the profession for 20 years, including 10 years as a partner at BDO.

"The extended term will take effect from 9 August 2016 to 31 December 2016.

"I would like to express my appreciation to Ms Kelsall for her commitment to the AUASB," Minister O’Dwyer said.
