Advertising for the first wave of jobs at the new Australian Taxation Office (ATO) office in Gosford has commenced today, with new recruits expected to begin work from December this year.

The Minister for Revenue and Financial Services, the Hon Kelly O’Dwyer MP, said this is an exciting milestone and a great opportunity for potential recruits in the region.

“We are now seeing this development come to life with real jobs and real opportunities being advertised for the Gosford community. It’s fantastic to see so much interest in these new jobs,” Minister O’Dwyer said.

Federal Member for Robertson, Lucy Wicks MP, said there has already been an overwhelming response from the Gosford community with hundreds of locals turning out to ATO information sessions last night.

“There has been a tremendous response from the Gosford community already with many people praising the Turnbull Government’s continual support to our region,” Mrs Wicks said.

“Locals flocked to Erina Centre Auditorium last night to hear directly from ATO staff at four information sessions that were at capacity. Discussion touched on the work the ATO does, the roles on offer at the new site and the recruitment process.”

The first phase of recruitment will see the vast majority of positions advertised between now and October at a variety of levels and functions and across a range of business areas within the ATO.

Minister O’Dwyer has encouraged locals to have a look at the jobs available and to register for recruitment updates to make sure they don’t miss out on future opportunities.

“If you are passionate about making a positive contribution to Australia's economic and social wellbeing keep an eye out there may be a job right for you,” Minister O’Dwyer said.

Due to overwhelming interest, the ATO has announced additional information sessions on Wednesday 6 September and Monday 9 October 2017. For more information, visit the ATO website.
