The Turnbull Government welcomes the work of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in supporting women with financial literacy with the launch of its new video series Women talk money.
“The videos feature five well-known Australian women and are designed to inspire Australian women to better manage their money so that have more life choices today and in their future.”
“The Women talk money project builds on the Government’s $10 million contribution announced in the 2018-19 Budget to support initiatives that ensure women are in control of their financial lives, now and in the future.”
This initiative is part of the Government’s National Financial Literacy Strategy, which aims to help all Australians take control of their financial lives. There is a particular focus on women following research from ASIC, which found that women can lack confidence in managing their finances.
“We want women to engage with their finances and have real conversations about money. I believe this is an important step so that women can have real control over their lives,” Minister O’Dwyer concluded.
The Women talk money videos are available on ASIC’s MoneySmart website and YouTube channel.
