Employer, industry and consumer interests will be represented on a five-person independent advisory committee established to assist the Australian Taxation Office in the development of the Government's superannuation 'choice of fund' education campaign.
Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer, Mal Brough, today announced the appointment of the advisory committee members that will provide vital input into the key messages and timing of the choice of fund education campaign.
"I am pleased to appoint John Keniry, Bruce Fadelli, Linda Elkins, Mara Bun and Howard Rosario to the Choice of Fund Advisory Committee.
"The Committee draws on a wealth of market experience, and each member has a solid understanding of the target groups which the education campaign will focus on. I thank each member for agreeing to be part of the campaign," the Minister said.
"The ATO and ASIC will work with the committee to review the information campaign ensuring that the products and messages are appropriately targeted.
"The campaign will be crucial in alerting those most affected by choice, that is, employers and employees, of their responsibilities and rights when choice commences on 1 July 2005."
