AN expansion of Rivwest Finance Limited’s office on Talbragar Street in Dubbo is a new opening for small business in western New South Wales, Small Business Minister Michael McCormack says.

Joining local Nationals’ MP Mark Coulton, Mr McCormack opened the new office building and celebrated the firm’s 21st birthday with employees and clients today.

“Rivwest is a real regional small business success story – and today’s expansion is another injection of confidence in Dubbo and communities throughout western NSW,” Mr McCormack said.

“With an expanding client and referral base across regional NSW – including my hometown of Wagga Wagga – the firm has recently employed three new staff. The old premises was no longer able to cater for the firm’s needs as it grew from a loan book of zero 21 years ago to around $30 million loaned across the bush today, with a staff of ten.

“Rivwest highlights the best of country small business success stories. These are the very kinds of people I want to back with lower taxes and more ability to hire people, to expand their operation and to enhance opportunities for locals in Dubbo and across western NSW.

“This story gives me the confirmation that small business will grow if you back it – which is exactly my plan as Small Business Minister.”

Local MP Mark Coulton said the firm remains proudly local, funding opportunities for local sporting and musician talents to pursue their dreams.

“Awards and sponsorship for local rugby union players and students at the Macquarie Conservatorium, partnered with financial advice on how to invest their sponsorship money, shows Rivwest has runs on the board in supporting the community which supports them,” Mr Coulton said.

“More jobs for locals in Dubbo and more services for Dubbo clients is the kind of investment we want to unlock as the Government partners with small business to build vibrant local communities with better services and opportunities available locally.

“Robert Elliot and the team at Rivwest are a credit to western NSW and I congratulate them on this exciting expansion.”

Rivwest’s new office is now open at 50 Talbragar Street, Dubbo.
