Ms Peter practises in competition and commercial law. She has 12 years experience advising some of Australia’s leading corporations in relation to commercial transactions, Corporations Law issues and trade practices matters.
Her initial experience was in litigation where she worked on major cases arising out of the attempted takeover of BHP and a series of cases for Ansett airlines in respect of the Two Airline Agreement.
She then moved to the Commercial Department where she has specialised in general corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions work as well as trade practices matters. She has advised a number of large, listed public companies and has also provided advice to government instrumentalities, including TAC, regarding their commercial activities and statutory powers.
Recently, she has been involved in advising Tip Top on its penalty hearing in proceedings bought by the ACCC, Air New Zealand in relation to its acquisition of 100% of Jetset and Ansett Australia in its formation of an alliance with Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines.
