Appointment to the Productivity Commission

The Treasurer, the Hon Peter Costello, today announced the appointment to the Productivity Commission of Mr Gary Potts as a part-time Associate Commissioner for the 2004 Review of Part X of the Trade Practices Act 1974.

Gary Potts is a senior executive, now retired from the public sector. He is currently a Director of AGEST Pty Ltd and the Project Governance Board of the Department of Defence. He also works as a financial consultant. Prior to his current positions, Mr Potts held several senior positions at the Commonwealth Treasury.

The Treasurer said that the appointment of Mr Potts will help the Commission maintain its important work as the Government’s principal advisory body on microeconomic policy and regulation.
