Gifts to the Sydney Talmudical College Association Refugees Overseas Aid Fund

The Government has decided to amend the income tax law to allow deductions for gifts of the value of $2 or more, made on or after the date of this press release, to the Sydney Talmudical College Association Refugees Overseas Aid Fund.

This Fund has been playing an important role in providing relief, assistance and rehabilitation of displaced persons/refugees in Israel. In recognition of the valuable humanitarian service undertaken by this Fund, the Government has decided to specifically list it as an international affairs recipient.

Legislation to give effect to the Government's decision will be introduced as soon as practicable.
