Peter Reith has been a magnificent and untiring soldier for the Liberal Party over almost 20 years.
In Opposition he was one of our stongest advocates, and in Government he has been a Minister of true quality.
His reforms to industrial relations and the waterfront taking on the vested interests of the union movement will be of enduring benefit to Australia.
His retirement from Parliament will be a heavy loss. I wish him well in his future career.
