The Treasurer announced today that Mr Ken Stone, AO is to retire from the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB). His retirement will take effect from 31 March 1998. Mr Stone served as a member of the Board since May 1984, and acting Chairman from September 1992 to April 1997.
The Government has extended to Mr Stone its appreciation for his dedicated service to the Government and to previous Governments in his capacity as Member and Acting Chairman of the Board and wishes him well in retirement. Mr Stones long service provided valuable continuity for the Board during a period in which its membership underwent significant changes.
