Job losses at Tarong mines a clear example of Labor mismanagement

“The loss of 160 jobs from Tarong mines is another example of Labor mismangement and what Queenslanders can expect from Labor at a federal level if they are elected,” Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer, Peter Dutton, said today.

“This loss of jobs at the Tarong mines in the Kingaroy region, is not simply the result of the drought.  Peter Beattie and Labor have mismanaged the water availability and infrastructure in Queensland for over a decade.”

“Queensland has been left unprepared, because Mr Beattie and Labor failed to spend a single dollar on infrastructure - on the dams - that could have prevented these job losses.

“We are seeing how Labor mismanagement affects the lives of ordinary Queensland workers.”

“People in Queensland should view this as a clear example of what happens when Labor is given the reins on economic management.”

“The real risk for Queenslanders and all Australians is that job losses like this could happen across the nation if Labor and their union task-masters are in government at all levels in this country.”
