Membership of the Advisory Board to the Financial Literacy Foundation

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jeremy Duffield to the Advisory Board of the Financial Literacy Foundation. Mr Duffield is the founder and Managing Director of Vanguard Investments Australia Ltd.

The Advisory Board is a non-statutory body established in 2005 to provide the Financial Literacy Foundation with independent, strategic guidance on financial literacy. The 10‑member Advisory Board comprises people who are leaders in their respective fields and who bring commitment to and expertise in financial literacy.

Mr Duffield brings to the Advisory Board a considerable background in the superannuation and funds management industries through his current position and through his Deputy Chairmanship of the Investment and Financial Services Association.

I would also like to thank Mr Michael Hawker, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Insurance Australia Group Limited, for his contribution to the Advisory Board, and before that, for the contribution he made to the Consumer and Financial Literacy Taskforce. Mr Hawker is stepping down due to other commitments. The time and effort that Mr Hawker has committed to advancing the future prospects for the financial wellbeing of all Australians is greatly appreciated.

Mr John McFarlane OBE, Chief Executive Officer, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited; and

Mr Ken Smith, Director-General, Queensland Department of Education and the Arts.
