Unions Still Pulling the Strings for Rudd

Today’s reports that the left wing of the Labor Party wants to re-introduce policies that will undermine the economic prosperity of this country shows that the unions are still running the ALP and Mr Rudd.

Media reports today indicate that a powerful bloc of left wing unions, headed by Doug Cameron, wants to restore the 15 per cent tax on superannuation payouts.

The ALP took 205 days to support the Government’s reforms to superannuation.  Now we know why.

The ALP was reluctant to agree to the reforms because they knew their union masters were hard against it.

If Mr Rudd can’t come out today and tell Mr Cameron that he supports Simpler Super in its entirety then how can he be trusted to run a $1 trillion economy.

Any delay by Mr Rudd will just confirm that under a Rudd union Labor Government the economy will be once again run by left wing unions.

Mr Rudd should stand up and confirm that restoring the 15% tax on payouts is not in the interest of ordinary working Australians.

All Mr Cameron’s proposal will do is reduce people’s retirement income and keep people dependent on welfare payments in their retirement.

“We have an ageing population, and by abolishing the end tax on super we were addressing the risks to the Australian economy.  What the Labor bosses are proposing would again undermine the future economic strength of this country” Mr Dutton said.
