Gifts To The Business Against Domestic Violence Reserve

The Government has decided to amend the income tax law to allow deductions for gifts of the value of $2 or more, made on or after the date of this Press Release, to the following fund:

'The Business Against Domestic Violence Reserve'.

Legislation to give effect to the Government's decision will be introduced as soon as practicable.

This Reserve is to help young people and families prevent domestic violence within the Australian community at large. It is an initiative of the Federal Government's fight against domestic violence. A programme, entitled Business Against Domestic Violence, has been established to encourage the involvement of corporate Australia in this enterprise by providing tax deductions for gifts made to the Reserve.
