Deductibility of Gifts to the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Memorial Trust Fund

Gifts to the value of $2 or more made to the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Memorial Trust Fund will be deductible for income tax purposes, the Assistant Treasurer, Senator Rod Kemp, announced today.

Funds raised by the Appeal will be used to redevelop the national memorial dedicated to members of the Royal Australian Airforce. The newly developed memorial will more adequately reflect the sacrifice and service of members of the RAAF.

After the Fund has satisfied the usual public fund requirements, a date will be nominated from which gifts will be tax deductible. The period of deductibility will end 12 months after that date.

Legislation to give effect to the Government’s decision will be introduced as soon as practicable after that time.
