Kemp Makes Linton Bushfire Trust Donations Tax Deductable

The Assistant Treasurer, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced that gifts to the value of $2 or more made to the Linton Trust after 2 December 1998 and before 3 December 2000 will be tax deductible.

The Linton Trust was established to raise money for the families of victims of the Linton Bushfire tragedy, which occurred in December 1998.

Tax deductible gift status will assist the Trust to attract public support for its activities.

People wishing to make a donation to the trust should send donations to:

The Linton Trust
Greater Geelong City Council
PO Box 104
GEELONG VIC 3220

Legislation will be introduced as soon as practicable and taxpayers should ensure they receive a receipt for their donation.
