The Assistant Treasurer, Senator Rod Kemp, today announced that gifts to the value of $2 or more made to the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Memorial Trust Fund from today to 17 November 2001 will be deductible for income tax purposes.
The Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Memorial Trust Fund has been established to raise funds to redevelop the national memorial dedicated to members of the Royal Australian Airforce. The newly developed memorial will more adequately reflect the sacrifice and service of members of the RAAF.
Tax deductible gift status will assist the Fund to attract public support for its activities.
Legislation to give effect to the Government’s decision will be introduced as soon as practicable and taxpayers should ensure that they receive a receipt for their donation
