I am pleased to announce the reappointment of Ms Maria McCrossin as the Chair of the Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board (CADB) and the appointment of Ms Karen O’Flynn as the Deputy Chair of the CADB. Ms O’Flynn is currently a member of the CADB.
The Coalition Government has also reappointed Ms Inge Kindermann and Ms Kerrie Howard as members of the CADB.
The CADB is an independent statutory body established under the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Act 2001. The primary role of the CADB is to act as an expert disciplinary tribunal that considers matters for the cancellation or suspension of the registration of auditors under the Corporations Act 2001. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority may make a referral to the CADB where auditor misconduct is identified.
These appointments continue the high level of skills and experience available to the CADB, ensuring that the CADB has appropriately qualified members to deal with issues of misconduct in the audit profession.
