Today I announce the following reappointments to the Board of Taxation:
- Mr Richard (Dick) Warburton AO as Chairman and member for a term of two years to 14 April 2010;
- Mr Chris Jordan AO as Deputy Chairman and member for a term of one year to 14 April 2009;
- Mr Keith James as a member for a term of two years to 14 April 2010; and
- Mr Brett Heading as a member for a term one year to 14 April 2009.
Mr Warburton has been Chairman of the Board of Taxation since its inception in September 2000. He is currently is Chairman of Tandou Ltd and Magellan Flagship Fund Ltd and holds several directorships.
Mr Jordan is Chairman of KPMG for New South Wales. He has been a member of the Board of Taxation since its inception in September 2000 and Deputy Chairman since January 2005.
Mr James is Senior Partner of Hall & Wilcox, Lawyers in Melbourne. He has been a member of the Board since March 2004.
Mr Heading is Chairman, McCullough Robertson, Lawyers in Brisbane. He has been a member of the Board since its inception in September 2000.
The Board of Taxation is a non-statutory body established to advise the Government on the development and implementation of taxation legislation and the ongoing operation of the tax system.
