Today I am announcing that the Australian Government has nominated Dr John Eyers to the role of Executive Director to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Dr Eyers would represent the constituency comprising Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand and Egypt. Pending a vote by constituency members, Dr Eyers will be appointed by the EBRD for a term ending in July 2012.

He has also worked as Alternate Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank, has been seconded to the Commonwealth Secretariat in London and has been posted to the PNG Treasury Department.
